structure design, new piling to support an additional finger pier
arrangement and access walkways connecting the existing structures.

Australian Marine Complex (AMC) Service & Supply Base - Piling Works
This project is designed as a barge berth for Chevron’s Gorgon Project. Austral’s scope was to install 409 No. paired sheetpiles to form 295m main wall and 260m anchor wall. Sheetpiles were installed in lengths of up to 19m long using a Banut 655 and leader-guided vibrator. 6 No. mooring piles were also installed with diameters of 762mm and 914mm. Works were completed 1 month ahead of schedule.

conditions.

Construction of a 130 meter long wharf structure which is open deck on pile structure. Total estimated dredge volume is in the order of 50,000 cubic meters. An armoured revetment beneath the open deck structure tied into the revetment beneath the existing berth.

of four river regulating structures and accompanying fish ladders on
the Macquarie River and Tributaries. Substancial temporary works for
construction of the structures in 'dry' condition sees the Macquarie
River diverted via a 220m long, 36,000 cubic meter excavated and rock
benched channel and sheet pile cofferdams across the river. Temporary
works ahve been designed to safely pass flood events of 4,000ml/day with
no flooding of the works.

Appleton Dock Fendering Upgrade
Construction of a modern rubber fendering system along nearly 1000m of Appleton Dock. Hydro demolition of the existing wharf structure was necessary to facilitate installation of 79 No. horizontal precast fender panels with rubber arch fenders. In addition, 29 No. had vertical steel fender frames with UHMWPE low friction facing for low freeboard ships. Austral fabricated multiple false work frames for demolition, precast panel installation and fender fit-off to increase safety and speed of installation and to allow uninterrupted berth operation.
